Power Supply After Fire in LV Switchroom Parking Garage
At the end of June, a fire broke out in a temporary distribution unit in a parking garage in Houten. Upon arrival, our technician found that the LV switchroom had been completely destroyed and could not be restored. This switchroom supplied power to both the parking garage and a shopping center, which required a fast solution to restore the energy supply.

A challenging fault: a power outage in a large part of a 15-storey apartment building in the heart of Amsterdam. The busbar, which transports energy from the transformer to the top floors, had failed.
Defective Medium-Voltage Cable at Brick Factory
Last week at 8:00 p.m. we received a call from Joulz; a defective medium-voltage cable had shut down the power supply at a brick factory in Walsoorden, Zeeland. An immediate 3150 kVA was needed, which had to be connected to the customer’s medium-voltage network.

The assignment from Joulz last week: ensuring that Sports Park Heerenveen — including the Abe Lenstra Stadium, swimming pool, Topsport Hall, sports hall, and hospital — would continue to have power during maintenance on the transformer station and the replacement of a medium-voltage switch.
Phase 2 – Power Supply for Waste Processor After Fire Incident
The project at a waste processing plant in the Botlek has entered a new phase. The construction of a new power building is a time-consuming and costly process. To bridge this period, the waste processor has decided to continue operating on a temporary power supply for the next six months. This means that, with the current setup, every kilowatt hour is still being generated by generators — which led to the ambition to (temporarily) reconnect to the main grid. Rapid Emergency Power Solution Commissioned by Enexis After Dike Breach in Maastricht
The water level of the Meuse River rose sharply, causing, among other things, a dike breach. The resulting surge of water sent a houseboat in a branch of the river adrift, which then collided with a bridge. The bridge was damaged, as was the medium-voltage cable running through it, which supplies power to the island and surrounding houseboats.

A unique, innovative project: emission-free drilling, fully powered by batteries using only green, renewable energy. In early September, TenneT began work on a project to partially underground two existing 150 kV overhead connections running through the Haagse Beemden and Wisselaar districts. The required drilling covers a length of 800 metres and will take several days to complete.
